Heng, 27, is one of Cambodia’s top female runners. She has participated in a number of local and international competitions, including the Phnom Penh International Half Marathon, Sihanoukville International Half Marathon, Cambodia’s Next Top Runner, Angkor Wat International Half Marathon, Asian Athletics Championship, and Southeast Asian Games.
“The Khmer Amateur Athletics Federation: A Cambodian sports federation on the move forwards with a new Secretary-General: Ms Meyjou Heng, Cambodia’s first ever female Secretary-General of an Olympic Sports Federation, who is also a dedicated track athlete (long distance),” the KAAF posted on its Facebook page on Feb 2022 when it appointed Heng as the new Secretary General.
The KAAF is currently headed by its president, H.E. Samheng Boros. He took up the top position of the organization in July 2021, is also Minister attached to the Prime Minister, Royal Government of Cambodia and Chairman of National Social Assistance Fund Board (NSAF) and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY).
