Mekong Institute (Ml) is currently implementing the “Sustainable and Smart Tourism Development in the Mekong Region” project supported by the Mekong-Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund (MKCF). With support from each country’s National Tourism Organizations and local destination management companies, the three-year project introduces smart tourism tools, techniques, and technologies through learning exchanges, structured learning visits, information-sharing, and adaptation of best practices.
As part of the project, a half-day roadshow event will be held in the afternoon of November 21, 2022 in Siem Reap
Organised with the support of Destination Mekong, the roadshow event in Siem Reap will take place at Angkor Green from 12 pm to 6 pm. The event is expected to increase multi-stakeholder tourism industry knowledge and understanding of the opportunities and practices associated with sustainable and smart tourism in Siem Reap.
The roadshow will allow an exchange of local insights and experience in respect to sustainable and smart tourism while showcasing local products and services, traditional music, and cultural arts through exhibitions, performance, photo contest, and videography.
Vlog Contest Theme
Under the theme of “The Unseen Tourism Gems of Siem Reap”, the vlog entries should capture and highlight the unique tourism attractions, practices, and potentials of Siem Reap province under one or all categories of ecology, crafts, history, entertainment, food, and culture.
How to Participate
Create and share a short vlog entry of 40 seconds about key attractions, culture, innovative local products, food, music, dance etc. of Siem Reap that you think are unique to showcase sustainable tourism in Siem Reap. It must be an original work that has not been featured, published, or awarded before.
The vlog entry should tell a story, which you believe would show case unseen Siem Reap to international and domestic visitors.
Post with hashtag #siemreaproadshow_2022 #sustainable_tourism on your TikTok or YouTube or Facebook and make it public from November l -17, 2022.
Submit your video link toal@mekonginstitute.org or Telegram (+66-0649636303) as soon as it is posted public. It will be monitored during the contest period and videos with the highest number of views and likes will be selected as winners.
The vlog entry must be taken within 2022 in Siem Reap and must be original and not featured, posted, or awarded before.
Prizes
10 Winners will be selected and awarded USD 100 each. The winners will be announced at Siem Reap Roadshow event on November 21.
Copyright Use
All contestants must grant all rights and access to their materials upon submission.
They will be attributed as owners of the video(s) in the project’s and Mi’s publications, website, social media channels, and other related platforms and materials. In addition, entrants must warrant that the submitted entries are of original work and do not infringe upon the copyright, trademark, privacy, or intellectual property rights or claims of any other person or entity.
