The biggest food festival in Cambodia is back on December 10th and 11th at the National Olympic Stadium. This year’s edition brings a new range of flavors, entertainment, and fun activities whilst advocating for sustainable practices, health and safety, and positive community values.
“We want to celebrate food, tastes, smells, experiences, and everything that makes us human at our festivals. And we will be advocating and doing capacity building to do this in the most sustainable and fair way possible, with free training, discounts for sustainable businesses, and much more.” Said Mr. Galeno Chua, Founding Principal of The Idea Consultancy.
Since 2017, Slaprea has filled over 90,000 bellies with over 500 food and beverage vendors, cafes, and restaurants. And at least 30,000 more bellies are hungrily awaiting to be filled this December.
The organizing team from The Idea Consultancy and Volunteer Nation have trained over 500 volunteers to help organize the events through training courses on professional communication skills, health and safety practices, event management, waste management advocacy and consumer behavior research. With their proficient support, five policy-advising reports on waste management and public hygiene were served to the Royal Government and development agencies pro bono.
This year’s edition serves a new feature to support the food and beverage sector. An Intelligence and Networking Seminar connecting F&B startups, businesses, investors, and suppliers for investment, research, and industry insights will be hosted at the end of November 2022.
