Cambodia has achieved a significant milestone by launching its first-ever National Policy and National Strategic Plan for Migrant Health 2022–2030. The highly anticipated launching ceremony was held in Phnom Penh on December 4, with the esteemed presence of Chheang Ra, Minister of Health.
With the aim of providing quality and equal access to healthcare services for Cambodian migrant workers, this comprehensive policy and strategic plan are set to address both their economic and public health risks. By doing so, Cambodia is making a noteworthy contribution towards global health coverage.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health has taken a proactive approach by proposing a social protection system to safeguard the well-being of these hardworking individuals. This imbues a sense of security and livelihood support, further enhancing the overall welfare of the migrant workers.
