In a remarkable demonstration of solidarity and compassion, the Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation (CKBF) has launched its annual “10,000 Riel 10,000 Donors” campaign, raising over $1.3 million in just eleven days. This extraordinary feat, achieved through the generous contributions of more than 138,000 philanthropists, underscores the spirit of “Khmer help Khmer” that continues to unite and inspire the Cambodian people.

Running from June 1 to 30, this month-long campaign aims to provide free medical treatment to Cambodian children, ensuring that every child has the chance to live a healthy and fulfilling life. The success of the campaign is not just measured in monetary terms but in the countless smiles it brings to the faces of the infants and children who represent the future of Cambodia.

Uniting for a Noble Cause

The CKBF’s call to action has resonated deeply across Cambodia, with national and local institutions, major companies, and enterprises organizing fundraising activities to support this vital cause. As of June 11, the foundation announced the successful removal of a cancerous tumor from the kidney of a one-year-old boy at the Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital. This life-saving surgery, performed free of charge, exemplifies the profound impact of the donations received.

A Message from CKBF Honourable President Pich Chanmony

CKBF Honourable President Pich Chanmony has been at the forefront of this campaign, leveraging her personal social media to drive awareness and encourage donations. Her heartfelt appeal, “All philanthropists, please continue to donate to the campaign. Together we can help the lives of Cambodian children,” echoes the collective commitment to maintaining the sustainability of Kantha Bopha children’s hospitals.

A Tradition of Giving

Aligned with International Children’s Day on June 1, the “10,000 Riel 10,000” initiative fosters a spirit of unity and generosity. It invites donors both within Cambodia and internationally to contribute to a cause that transcends borders and celebrates the essence of humanity.

How You Can Help

For those wishing to contribute to this noble cause, donations can be made by transferring funds to the specified ACLEDA Bank accounts: 0001-0341273813 for donations in KHR and 0001-0341273824 for USD contributions. Every donation, no matter the amount, plays a crucial role in saving lives and bringing hope to countless families.

A Collective Effort for a Brighter Future

The “10,000 Riel 10,000 Donors” campaign is a testament to the power of collective effort and the unwavering spirit of the Cambodian people. It is a shining example of how a community, driven by compassion and a shared vision, can come together to create lasting positive change.

As we celebrate the success of this campaign, let us continue to support and spread the word. Together, we can ensure that every child in Cambodia has access to the medical care they deserve, paving the way for a brighter and healthier future for all.
