Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – Prime Minister Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet of Cambodia has pledged his support for the establishment of the ‘Techo Sen Disabled Sports Fund’, announcing a significant financial commitment during the inaugural ceremonies of the Techo Sen National Centre of Disabled Persons and the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia in Phnom Penh on Thursday (Mar. 21).
Prime Minister Hun Manet revealed plans for the annual distribution of 200 million Riels in the first year to bolster the Centre’s initiatives. Furthermore, he affirmed a sustained commitment to continue this distribution for the subsequent three years, thereby fortifying the Techo Sen Disabled Sports Fund and its endeavors aimed at advancing the capabilities of the Techo Sen National Centre of Disabled Persons.
Expressing gratitude to various stakeholders including His Excellency, Neak Oknha, esteemed guests, donors, partners, and notably Mr. Kim from South Korea, the Prime Minister called for continued support towards the center’s noble cause.
Highlighting the necessity for operational efficiency, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized the critical need for budgetary allocations to facilitate the development of sports programs tailored for persons with disabilities (PWDs). This support is particularly vital in light of preparations for hosting the 6th Asian Youth Para Games, underscoring Cambodia’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowerment within its sporting community.
