Cambodia to Attend ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Malaysia

by TBC

Cambodia is preparing to participate in the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) Retreat in Malaysia next week, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

An internal preparatory meeting was held in Phnom Penh this morning, chaired by H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to discuss Cambodia’s participation in the retreat.

The AMM Retreat is scheduled to take place on January 18-19, 2025, in Langkawi, Malaysia. This year, Malaysia has taken on the ASEAN chairmanship, marking the fifth time the nation has held this position since the bloc’s establishment in 1967.

ASEAN, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, is an intergovernmental organization composed of ten member states: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
