With a variety of visa options available, including long-term stay options for expats and travelers, Cambodia offers an unparalleled living experience. Learn more about the visa rules and requirements for a hassle-free stay in this beautiful and culturally rich country.

Cambodia, a land rich in history and cultural heritage, is fast becoming a popular destination for expats and long-term travelers. With its stable currency, thriving economy, and a government that is committed to maintaining peace and order, Cambodia offers an unparalleled living experience for those looking to settle down or explore Southeast Asia.

The Cambodian government has implemented a clear and straightforward visa policy, making it easier for foreigners to apply for a long-term stay. With a variety of visa options available, you can choose the one that best suits your needs and circumstances.

If you arrive in Cambodia with an E-type (Ordinary) Visa and wish to apply for a 12-month EB (Business) Extension of Stay (EOS), all you need is a copy of your Work Permit card, Employment Letter, and your company’s Patent Tax License. This will allow you to work and live in Cambodia for an extended period, contributing to the country’s growing economy.

For those who don’t have a Work Permit, you can still apply for a 6-month EB EOS by providing your Employment Letter and Patent Tax License. If you’re still in the process of securing employment, you can apply for a 3-month EP (Proposal) EOS, which can be converted to an EB EOS once you have obtained a Work Permit and Employment Letter, along with a copy of the Patent Tax License.

Moreover, if you’re legally married to a Cambodian citizen and don’t work or aren’t eligible for an ER EOS, you can apply for an EB EOS based on marriage without providing employment-related documentation. Similarly, non-working dependent spouses of foreign nationals can also apply for an EB EOS without the need for employment-related documentation.

For those seeking a shorter stay, the EG (General) EOS is available for 1 or 3 months, offering a flexible option for travelers who want to experience Cambodia’s rich culture and beautiful landscapes.

It’s important to note that most of the visa policies mentioned above are not new; they are simply a stricter enforcement of existing policies (Sub Decree 123). This ensures that the process remains transparent and accessible for all who wish to experience life in Cambodia.

Cambodia offers a unique and unparalleled living experience for those looking to stay long-term. With its stable currency, growing economy, and a government that is dedicated to maintaining peace and order, Cambodia is an ideal destination for expats and long-term travelers. The clear and straightforward visa policy makes it easy for foreigners to apply for a long-term stay in this beautiful and peaceful country, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the Cambodian way of life.
