Martalia received the award in the Social Entrepreneur category. The award ceremony was held in Singapore.
The education of children in Cambodia has greatly benefited from Martalia’s efforts. She is unique in her enthusiasm and in how she overcomes the difficulties she encounters every day. A whole generation is being inspired by her, and she is also impacting how society views holistic education.
Her school, which works closely with the MOEYS on future schools, was also awarded Employer of the Year at PEP Talks this year and is doing really incredible things for Cambodian education.
The Women of the Future (“WOF”) program is a collection of activities and initiatives that celebrate and encourage the achievements of young women with the goal of enhancing the pipeline for female talent.
Pinky Lilani CBE DL founded the WOF Program in the United Kingdom in 2006. HRH The Countess of Wessex serves as its Global Ambassador, while the British High Commissioner to Malaysia, Vicki Treadell CMG MVO, serves as vice chair of the Women of the Future Awards.
All Asian women under the age of 35 are eligible for the Women of the Future Awards. Candidates must be residents of or nationals of one of the following countries:
Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines and Timor Leste.
