Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet visited displaced families in Preah Vihear province to review relief arrangements at temporary safety centres.
The visit was held in Tbeng Meanchey district, where families are sheltering after being moved from border areas. Authorities relocated residents as a precaution following security concerns in the region.
The Prime Minister met displaced residents and reviewed conditions at the shelters. Officials said the centres are providing basic necessities. These include food, clean water, temporary housing, and healthcare services.
Local officials reported that hygiene and sanitation are being closely monitored. Medical support is available for vulnerable groups, including children, elderly residents, and people with existing health conditions.
Government representatives briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing humanitarian assistance. Relief efforts focus on maintaining regular supply distribution and ensuring uninterrupted support for all displaced households.
Authorities are also preparing for recovery once conditions stabilise. Planned measures include safety inspections and demining activities in affected areas. These steps are required before families can safely return to their homes.
Multiple safety centres have been set up across Preah Vihear province. The centres are managed by local administrations in coordination with relevant ministries. Conditions are reviewed regularly to ensure adequate resources and services.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of coordination among government agencies during periods of displacement. Officials said the situation remains under close monitoring.
The visit highlights the government’s continued focus on civilian protection, humanitarian assistance, and recovery planning. Support for displaced families will continue until conditions allow for safe and orderly returns.
