Thank you for visiting The Better Cambodia. When I started this platform, it grew from a simple thought. Cambodia has so many positive stories, yet most of the world never hears them. The people, the energy, the daily acts of kindness, the steady progress happening across the country, all of it deserves to be told in an honest way. I wanted a space that shows Cambodia as it truly is, without exaggeration, without drama, and without judgement.
Over time, this platform has become a home for stories that reflect the real spirit of the nation. Every article is written carefully. We check facts, we listen to people, and we try our best to treat every story with respect. Many readers from abroad have written to us saying that our content encouraged them to visit or invest in Cambodia. Because of this, new jobs and opportunities have opened for people here. Knowing that our work has had even a small role in that gives me the strength to keep building this platform.
One principle has guided us from day one: our independence is non-negotiable.
We do not ask for charity from private groups or from the government if it comes with expectations, pressure, or even subtle attempts to shape our narrative. Our work is meaningful only when we are free to tell Cambodia’s story as it truly is: with honesty, dignity, and pride.
However, if an organisation genuinely believes in positive journalism and does not influence our editorial direction in any way, we welcome their support. We are happy to accept funding from partners who respect our independence, share our values, and recognise that our mission is to uplift Cambodia through facts, fairness and constructive storytelling — not through dictated narratives.
