Significantly, the Prime Minister revealed a substantial backing from the parents for the proposal to extend teaching hours in select schools, stating that about 90 percent support additional study time for their children. This expansion aims to bolster the academic foundation by including extended periods for essential subjects such as math, Khmer literature, and introducing computer studies.
Additionally, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of broadening the scope of education beyond traditional subjects to incorporate life skills. Initiatives include promoting practical knowledge such as hygiene, respect for elders, and road safety, alongside extracurricular activities like dance and sports. Specifically, for grades 4 to 6, he has advocated for enhancing the curriculum with advanced reading and math assessments to establish a more uniform educational standard across the nation.
Acknowledging the diverse needs of a growing student population, Hun Manet also advised significant attention to the inclusion of Khmer literature within the primary education system, even within international private school curricula. This initiative is aimed at preserving cultural identity while ensuring a balanced educational experience, highlighting the importance of mastering the national language alongside other academic and life skills.

The Prime Minister called for heightened measures to ensure student safety, suggesting increased police presence or community volunteer assistance to manage traffic and safeguard children during these periods.
