Beryllus Capital and WorldBridge Group sign agreement to launch the Mekong Growth Fund, focused on Cambodia and Southeast Asia

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, and LONDON: Beryllus Capital (UK) Ltd (“Beryllus Capital”), the UK FCA authorised investment manager, and WorldBridge Group (“WorldBridge”), one of Cambodia’s leading business groups, and a consortium of Cambodia’s prominent Oknha business families today announced the signing of a binding Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Beryllus Capital Mekong Growth Fund (the “Fund”), a new growth and infrastructure investment vehicle targeting USD 200 million to USD 500 million, leading to over a billion.

  • About WorldBridge Group
  • About Beryllus Capital (UK) Ltd

WorldBridge is joined in the founding coalition by Neak Oknha Thay Cheahouth and Oknha Hieng Bunpeng of Peng Huoth Group, Oknha Thai Seang of TSNR Distribution, Neak Oknha Bun Hai of Borey Phnom Penh Thmey Co., Ltd., and Neak Oknha Ly Hong of Borey Angkor Palace Co., Ltd. Further invitations are being extended to select Cambodian business families in the coming weeks, ahead of the Fund’s first close.

The Fund will invest across three complementary sleeves: growth and infrastructure assets in Cambodia, the Mekong corridor and the wider ASEAN region; global public markets, providing liquidity and diversification; and private equity and growth investments across the region and globally.

The Fund is designed to give Cambodia’s growing private wealth access, for the first time, to a globally regulated institutional investment platform, while positioning international investors, including sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions and family offices, to co invest alongside Cambodia’s leading business families. The Asian Development Bank estimates that ASEAN requires approximately USD 210 billion of infrastructure investment annually through 2030, and the Fund intends to direct international capital toward this opportunity.

As part of the Fund’s founding commitment, its General Partner will donate 1% of net profits to a Cambodian charitable foundation, reflecting the Fund’s ambition to deliver returns for investors alongside a lasting benefit for Cambodia.

“Cambodia’s growth story deserves a world class investment platform of its own. WorldBridge is proud to lead this founding coalition of Cambodia’s most respected Oknha families, alongside Beryllus Capital, in creating a vehicle that channels the trust and ambition of our business community into a fund built to international standards.”

Neak Oknha Sear Rithy, Chairman, WorldBridge Group

“The Mekong Growth Fund is a landmark moment for Cambodia’s private capital community. Working with Chairman Rithy, WorldBridge and the coalition of leading Oknha families joining as founding investors, we are building an institutionally regulated platform that gives Cambodia’s leading families, and international investors alike, a disciplined route into one of the world’s most compelling growth stories. I want to thank Jas Sohl, Strategic Partner and Shareholder of Beryllus, for his relentless pursuit of this vision from the very beginning. His conviction has been instrumental in bringing WorldBridge, Beryllus Capital and Cambodia’s Oknha families together. We look forward to building this Fund together, and to welcoming further founding partners as it grows.”

Amit Kotha, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Beryllus Capital (UK) Ltd
