PHNOM PENH — Cambodia recently hosted a prominent forum aimed at evaluating the achievements of the first mandate of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority (FSA) and charting strategic priorities for the expansion of the national securities market.
The high-level gathering brought together key regulatory bodies, market operators, and financial sector stakeholders to review milestones accomplished under foundational frameworks, including the Cambodia Securities Sector Development Strategy. Discussions focused on enhancing investor confidence, expanding capital mobilization channels, and deepening liquidity across the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX).
Strengthening the Non-Bank Financial Ecosystem
As part of the broader implementation of national policy agendas—such as the Pentagonal Strategy Phase-One and the Finance Sector Development Strategy—authorities emphasized the critical role that a robust non-bank financial sector plays in driving sustainable economic growth.
The forum served as a platform to address regulatory adjustments, promote digitalization in financial reporting, and encourage broader public and institutional participation in the local bourse. Regulators reiterated their commitment to strengthening market transparency and aligning Cambodia’s financial architecture with international standards, ensuring the capital market remains a vital engine for domestic business financing and long-term economic resilience.
