On February 7, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and the Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Development Cooperation of Belgium held their first-ever Bilateral Political Consultations. The session, hosted at the Cambodian Ministry, was led by His Excellency Dr. CHEM Widhya, Secretary of State of Cambodia, and Ambassador François DELHAYE, Director Asia and Oceania for Belgium.
The consultations provided an opportunity for both nations to share updates on their political and economic progress and to explore avenues for deepening bilateral relations, particularly in the realms of trade and investment. The dialogue also covered a variety of regional and global topics of mutual interest, highlighting the shared concerns and objectives between the two countries.
Both parties recognized the significance of these consultations as a platform for enhancing communication and collaboration between their respective foreign ministries. The commitment to continue these discussions was affirmed, with plans to organize the second session of the Bilateral Political Consultations in Brussels, aiming to further solidify the partnership between Cambodia and Belgium.
