Angkor Enterprise reported on December 4, 2024, that American tourists topped the list of nearly 400,000 international visitors to the Angkor Archaeological Park.
Between January and November 2024, the park welcomed 898,339 ticketed visitors, marking a significant 28.33% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The surge in visitors generated close to $42 million in revenue.
The United States contributed the largest number of tourists, with 92,841 visitors, a 10.33% increase from the previous year. The UK followed in second place with 77,446 visitors, reflecting an 8.62% rise. Australia ranked third with 72,399 visitors, while China and South Korea rounded out the top five with 71,176 and 65,885 tourists, respectively.
Ly Se, Director General of Angkor Enterprise, credited the growth in international arrivals to effective collaboration between the government and private sector in promoting Cambodia’s prime tourist destinations. He emphasized the critical role of peace and stability in attracting visitors.

Ly Se also highlighted that while pre-COVID-19 tourist numbers from the United States, Europe, and Australia were comparable, post-pandemic economic challenges in some Asian countries have affected regional visitor trends.
Ticket prices for the Angkor Archaeological Park are currently set at $37 for a one-day pass, $62 for a three-day pass (valid for 10 days), and $72 for a seven-day pass (valid for 30 days). Notably, the last quarter of 2024 saw a more than 40% increase in international tourists purchasing three-day and seven-day tickets, signaling a growing interest in longer stays to explore the park’s iconic heritage sites.
This resurgence underscores Cambodia’s successful efforts in revitalizing tourism and positioning Angkor Archaeological Park as a leading global destination.
