Cambodia’s national flag carrier, Cambodia Angkor Air, has officially rebranded as Air Cambodia, unveiling its new identity with a commitment to expanding both domestic and international routes.
The official launch event, held in Phnom Penh on January 10, 2024, gathered hundreds of representatives from the civil aviation and tourism industries, as well as industry experts, scholars, and key stakeholders.
Mr. Zhan David, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Cambodia, described 2024 as a landmark year for the airline. He highlighted significant achievements in market performance, operational safety, service quality, fleet expansion, corporate culture enhancement, and local talent development. These milestones, he emphasized, have further strengthened Air Cambodia’s influence in the international aviation market.
“Air Cambodia has played an increasingly vital role in promoting people-to-people exchanges and facilitating economic and trade cooperation between Central China, Cambodia, and ASEAN,” said Mr. Zhan.
Air Cambodia stands out as the only Cambodian airline to have obtained the IOSA safety audit certification and Skytrax’s three-star rating, reflecting its commitment to global safety and service standards.
As part of its growth strategy, Air Cambodia successfully acquired three new aircraft in 2024, progressing towards its goal of expanding its fleet to 32 aircraft.
The airline has also announced a new flight route connecting Phnom Penh and Bangkok, set to commence on February 17, 2025. Furthermore, Air Cambodia has expressed plans to introduce flight services to Japan, South Korea, and other destinations in the near future, with intercontinental routes expected to launch around 2026.
