Cambodia’s export earnings from garments, shoes, and travel goods reached US$15.5 billion in 2025, showing significant growth for the country’s light manufacturing sector. The total export figure represents a year-on-year increase of 15.7%, highlighting sustained demand from global markets. Garment exports were the largest contributor, totaling US$11.4 billion, up 16.5% compared with 2024. Footwear exports amounted to US$2.09 billion, a 24.5% increase, while travel goods reached US$2.02 billion, growing by 3.8% over the previous year.
The garments, shoes, and travel goods sector remains a key pillar of Cambodia’s economy, contributing around 50% of the nation’s total export value. The industry includes over 1,500 factories and branches, employing approximately 900,000 workers, a large proportion of whom are women.
Experts note that market diversification and trade partnerships have played a crucial role in export growth. Agreements such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and rising demand from key trading partners have supported the sector’s performance throughout the year. Cambodia exports these goods to a wide range of international markets, including the United States, European Union, ASEAN countries, and East Asia, making the industry one of the most globally integrated sectors in the country.
Analysts highlight that ongoing efforts to enhance production capacity, improve supply chain efficiency, and attract foreign investment are expected to strengthen Cambodia’s export competitiveness in the coming years. Continued focus on high-quality manufacturing and adherence to international standards could help maintain growth momentum into 2026 and beyond.
