PHNOM PENH — Leading Indian information and communication technology (ICT) companies interacted with their Cambodian counterparts in Phnom Penh during a high-level business exchange. The event took place during a visit by an 11-member Indian delegation representing nine leading technology firms.
The Indian delegation traveled to Phnom Penh to explore investment opportunities, build strategic partnerships with Cambodian stakeholders, and support Cambodia’s ongoing digital transformation.
Strengthening Cross-Border Tech Partnerships and Ecosystems
The B2B interaction was organized by the Embassy of India in Phnom Penh alongside the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC)—India’s apex trade promotion body for ICT sectors.
The visiting Indian delegation featured Chief Executive Officers, Managing Directors, and senior executives across several advanced technology sectors, including:
- Emerging Technologies: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, AR/VR, and Cyber Security.
- Specialized Solutions: FinTech, AgriTech, Health IT, Business Automation, Web/Mobile Vehicle Tech, Animation, Gaming, and Drone Technologies.
- Hardware & Manufacturing: Semiconductors, Electronic Systems Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), IT Hardware, Medical Electronics, Strategic Electronics, Solar Power Equipment, and Embedded Technologies.
The event convened over 100 stakeholders representing government agencies, private enterprises, business associations, financial institutions, and tech startups. Key Cambodian attendees included the Cambodia Oknha Association (COA), the Cambodia Digital Tech Association (CDTA), the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC), the Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA), and the Indian Business Chamber in Cambodia (IBCC). In addition, major commercial banks such as ABA Bank, ACLEDA Bank, Vattanac Bank, Wing Bank, and Bridge Bank participated in the meeting.
Advancing Bilateral Ties and the Knowledge Economy
Indian Ambassador Vanlalvawna encouraged companies from both nations to pursue direct technology transfers, joint ventures, innovation projects, and digital capacity building. He stressed that deeper private-sector ties will strengthen economic relations while supporting Cambodia’s long-term digital growth.
ESC CEO and Executive Director Gurmeet Singh highlighted that the initiative marks the start of a shared digital transformation. He noted that Indian firms view Cambodia as a collaborative partner in developing a knowledge-driven economy that builds institutional strength and regional prosperity.
The meeting highlighted India’s established role as a global technology partner and software exporter. It also referenced India’s leadership in human-centric AI initiatives, following its hosting of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi—the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South.
Ultimately, the one-day business exchange established a clear platform for commercial partnerships, knowledge sharing, and technology transfer under the broader India–Cambodia strategic partnership.
