In a world where hardship and struggle are all too familiar, one woman’s determination and resilience have made her a shining beacon of hope for many. Jacqueline Bhagavan’s journey from a Cambodian refugee to the present Mrs. Cambodia (2022- 2023), a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist, and beauty queen, is a testament to the power of perseverance, inner strength, and the unwavering belief in one’s dreams.

Growing up in the shadow of the Khmer Rouge, Jacqueline and her family fled Cambodia to seek refuge in the United States. Adapting to a new country, language, and culture, while grappling with the challenges of poverty and undiagnosed dyslexia, would have been enough to break the spirits of many. But not Jacqueline.

Against all odds, she earned her college degree from California State University, Sacramento, and embarked on a journey that led her to become an entrepreneur in beauty- skincare and being crowned Mrs. Cambodia World. This remarkable woman has used her platform to empower others, particularly women and girls, by lifting their self-esteem and spreading compassion.

However, Bhagavan’s journey is not just about personal success; it is also about giving back to her community and helping others rise above their circumstances. As the president of the Coral Tree Education Foundation, Bhagavan is dedicated to rebuilding schools in Cambodia and advancing the education of young girls.

Jacqueline’s achievements as a licensed esthetician and web show host only scratch the surface of her multifaceted talents. In 2015/2016, she made history as the first Cambodian-American to be crowned Mrs. California and was a finalist in the Mrs. America competition.

In the words of Metaxia Dalikas, co-founder and CEO of Lira Clinical, “Jacqueline has overcome huge obstacles as a refugee and a genocide survivor, and we are excited to bring her positive outlook and inner resilience to Lira as a spokesperson.” Bhagavan’s story teaches us that true beauty is both internal and external, embodying the entrepreneurial spirit that today’s women admire.

However, her story is more than just a collection of accolades. It is a powerful reminder that our past does not define us, and that even in the face of adversity, we can rise above and achieve greatness. Jacqueline Bhagavan embodies the spirit of resilience, the power of perseverance, and the importance of self-belief in the pursuit of our dreams.

As a devoted wife, mother, and community leader, Jacqueline has used her experiences to advocate for education, promote healthy lifestyles, and champion the cause of women’s empowerment. Her life serves as an inspiring example for all of us, proving that no obstacle is insurmountable when you have the courage to pursue your dreams and the determination to make a difference.

As we celebrate the achievements and the indomitable spirit of Jacqueline Bhagavan, we are reminded of her message: “Never give up on your dreams.” Through her work, her advocacy, and her unwavering dedication to empowering women and families, Bhagavan continues to make a difference in the lives of those around her, proving that even in the face of adversity, hope and determination can pave the way to a better future.

“Through the shadows of adversity, we find the light of our true potential. My journey from a refugee to Mrs. Cambodia World is a testament to the power of resilience, education, and unwavering determination. I hope my story ignites the same fire in others to conquer their challenges and create a brighter future.” – Jacqueline Bhagavan, Mrs. Cambodia World
