During a meeting at the 3rd Road and Belt Forum for International Coordination in Beijing, Prime Minister of Cambodia, Dr. Hun Manet, and Ms. Wen Jia, President of Alibaba Group’s Public Affairs Department, discussed the collaboration between Alibaba and Cambodia. They expressed their gratitude for the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia and Alibaba Group, which enables Cambodian products to be directly sold through Alibaba’s eWTP Platform in the Chinese market and ASEAN countries, boosting e-commerce promotion.
Ms. Wen Jia informed the Prime Minister about Alibaba’s significant global presence with approximately 1.3 billion customers worldwide. She highlighted the successful sale of Cambodian products, such as milled rice and longan, on Alibaba’s e-commerce platform. Additionally, she mentioned the e-platform created by Alibaba for Chinese citizens to apply for Cambodian visas, leading to a significant increase in the number of applicants.
Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the partnership between Alibaba and Cambodian companies, enterprises, as well as relevant ministries and institutions. He expressed his optimism that Cambodian entrepreneurs would make the most out of the Alibaba e-commerce platform to maximize opportunities in the international market.
