The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has recently granted licenses to 13 new investment projects, showcasing the country’s commitment to economic growth and development. These projects have a total investment of over $130 million and are expected to create numerous job opportunities.

One of the notable projects is Justmarvelous Co., Ltd., which aims to establish a textile factory in Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone. Similarly, Vacation Industry Co., Ltd. plans to set up a factory producing various bags in Svay Rieng Special Economic Zone, with an investment capital of approximately $7.3 million and the potential to create 245 jobs.

These enterprises aim to develop factories for the production of Christmas trees, decorations, and related souvenirs. Together, they have an investment capital of over $11.8 million and are expected to generate around 1,036 jobs.

The wood and furniture industry is also well represented among the approved projects. Kamelun Wood Co., Ltd. and Angel Wood (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. plan to establish factories for plywood, wood decoration, and furniture. Additionally, Glorious Building Material (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. has been granted a license to produce door frames, window frames, and wooden frames. With an investment of $1.2 million, this project is set to create 330 jobs, contributing to the local workforce.

Renewable energy is also a focus of Cambodia’s development plans. SCHNEITEC VIBRANT CO., LTD has received approval to establish a 60-megawatt solar power plant in Svay Rieng province. This project, with an investment of $65.5 million, will contribute to the country’s efforts towards sustainable energy solutions.

Other approved projects include the manufacturing of shoes, garment and sewing factories, and electronics production facilities. These enterprises, such as XIN ANG SHOES (CAMBODIA) MANUFACTURING CO., LTD and GOLDEN VESSEL (CAMBODIA) ELECTRONIC AND LIGHTING CO., LTD. are poised to create a significant number of jobs and further bolster Cambodia’s economic growth.

With the approval of these 13 investment projects, the CDC is actively working towards attracting both local and foreign investors, boosting employment opportunities, and promoting economic diversification.
