The Royal Government of Cambodia will organise a Royal Prayer Ceremony for the Prosperity of the Kingdom on April 13–14, 2025, at the sacred Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province.
This solemn occasion will be presided over by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, with the attendance of the nation’s top leaders including Senate President Hun Sen, National Assembly President Khuon Sudary, and Prime Minister Hun Manet. Senior officials from the Senate, National Assembly, and Royal Government, along with ambassadors, Buddhist monks, and distinguished guests, will also take part in the ceremony.
Rooted in centuries-old tradition, the Royal Prayer Ceremony reflects the country’s enduring cultural and spiritual heritage. It serves not only as a religious observance but also as a symbol of national unity, pride, and solidarity under the revered leadership of the King. Participants will pray for continued peace, prosperity, and harmony for the Kingdom and its people, while honouring the legacy of Khmer ancestors who built monumental structures like Angkor Wat as gifts for future generations.
Beyond its spiritual meaning, the ceremony highlights the nation’s civilisational depth and is expected to draw international attention. It reinforces a national commitment to preserving heritage and promotes cultural tourism by showcasing unique traditions to the world.
To ensure the event’s success, a high-level inter-ministerial committee has been formed under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Kuy Sophal, who also serves as Minister of the Royal Palace and Chairman of the National Committee for Organising National and International Festivals. The organising body comprises over 30 senior officials, including deputy prime ministers, ministers, and local authorities, working in close coordination to ensure the ceremony proceeds with dignity and efficiency.
