Cambodia and India have officially launched the second edition of their bilateral military exercise, “CINBAX-II,” aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two armed forces in counterterrorism and humanitarian operations. The exercise began on 6 May 2026 in Kampong Speu Province and will continue for 15 days.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Uon Saroeun, alongside representatives from the Indian Defence Attaché Office, reaffirming India’s participation and support for the joint initiative.
Focus on Counterterrorism and Humanitarian Assistance
The exercise is being conducted under the theme “Joint Counterterrorism and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Operations.” Military officials stated that the program is designed to enhance operational coordination and interoperability between the Royal Cambodian Army and the Indian Army.
The training includes:
- Command Post Exercises (CPX)
- Field Training Exercises (FTX)
- Counterterrorism response drills
- Humanitarian assistance simulations
- Disaster relief coordination activities
Officials noted that the exercise also reflects scenarios commonly faced during United Nations peacekeeping missions.
Troop Participation and Training Location
The military exercise is being held at the Techo Sen Phnom Thom Mreas Prov RCAF Training Center in Samraong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province.
A total of 280 military personnel are participating, including:
