The Better Cambodia, 8 May 2026
Phnom Penh, In a meeting that quietly reflected Cambodia’s widening circle of international friendships, H.E. Samheng Boros, Minister attached to the Prime Minister, received Dr. Ravindranath K, a distinguished Orthopaedic and Endoscopic Spine Surgeon from Bangalore, on Thursday, 8 May 2026. Their conversation centred on healthcare opportunities in Cambodia and the possibilities for deeper cooperation between Cambodia and India in clinical care, medical training, and hospital development.

Dr. Ravindranath brings nearly three decades of medical experience. He currently practices at Apollo Spectra Hospitals in Bangalore and serves as Director of Brindavan Hospital in Mysore. A former President of the Vidyaranya Institute for Disabled, he has long worked at the intersection of surgical excellence and inclusive healthcare, with ventures and collaborations spanning India and emerging markets in Africa.
The exchange, held in a calm and cordial atmosphere, moved across several subjects. They spoke about specialised surgical services, medical education, rehabilitation pathways for persons with disabilities, and the practical mechanics through which international expertise can support Cambodia’s growing health ecosystem. H.E. Samheng Boros welcomed Dr. Ravindranath warmly, noting that meaningful collaborations in healthcare are rarely built through grand announcements, but through patient and professional dialogue of exactly this kind.

Cambodia’s healthcare sector has progressed steadily in recent years. Public institutions are stronger than they were a decade ago, the private sector is maturing, and a new generation of Cambodian doctors, nurses, and administrators are returning home with skills sharpened in some of the region’s finest institutions. Against this backdrop, Dr. Ravindranath’s visit reflects a growing recognition among international medical leaders that Cambodia is not merely a destination for services, but a genuine partner in building long-term capacity.

“A nation’s health is the truest measure of its progress,” H.E. Samheng Boros remarked during the meeting, adding that Cambodia, under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, continues to welcome friends who come with patience, professionalism, and purpose.
For Dr. Ravindranath, the conversation appeared to resonate on a personal level. He spoke of Cambodia not as a market, but as a country of people, families, and futures worth investing in. It was a sentiment that mirrored the Minister’s own quiet vision for the sector.
Discussions like these rarely make headlines. Yet they are often where the most enduring partnerships begin, over tea, in calm rooms, between people who choose to listen as much as they speak.
