PHNOM PENH — The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) convened a private sector working group meeting on “Mines and Energy” to address critical industry bottlenecks ahead of the upcoming Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF).
The meeting was led by Un Yuthy, co-chair of the private sector working group on “Mines and Energy” of the CCC. The session served as a collaborative venue for industry leaders to discuss strategic developments, regulatory updates, and public-private coordination across Cambodia’s energy, mining, and fuel infrastructure sectors.
Reviewing Nine Critical Regulatory and Operational Challenges
During the session, the working group reviewed nine pressing challenges and regulatory requests affecting private operators within the extraction and fuel infrastructure industries.
Participants included vice-chairs and members of the working group, executives from private oil companies, and key stakeholders operating across Cambodia’s mineral resources and energy landscape.
Following the review, the private sector delegation plans to formally present its proposed solutions to the Ministry of Mines and Energy and relevant government institutions to streamline operational frameworks and enhance public-private collaboration.
Paving the Way for Public-Private Dialogue
The “Mines and Energy” working group—also designated as Working Group ‘J’ under the Government-Private Sector Forum framework—serves as the primary mechanism for private firms to voice policy concerns directly to state authorities.
By formulating unified solutions prior to dialogue with the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the private sector aims to support regulatory clarity, encourage sustainable resource management, and strengthen energy security across Cambodia.
