Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The Cambodia Outlook Conference 2025, co-hosted by Australia and the Cambodia Development Research Institute (CDRI), convened in Phnom Penh today. Presided over by Prime Minister Hun Manet, the conference gathered over 500 key stakeholders, including government officials, academics, development partners, and economic experts, to discuss strategies for accelerating Cambodia’s economic growth.
Distinguished attendees included Aun Pornmoniroth, Minister of Economy and Finance, alongside three other ministers, Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia and CDRI Chair of the Board of Directors, and Derek Yip, Australian Ambassador to Cambodia.
Held at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel & Residence, the conference addressed Cambodia’s structural challenges and explored strategies for fostering strong and sustainable economic development. Discussions centered on urgent reforms necessary for long-term, high-quality growth, emphasizing good governance, institutional strengthening, private sector engagement, and effective policy implementation.
Australian Ambassador Derek Yip underscored the importance of strategic collaboration, stating:

The conference was organized in collaboration with Australia’s flagship economic development program, the Cambodia-Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED).
