(Ankara, Nov. 3, 2025) — Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Cham Nimul met in Ankara with Mr. Hasan Gümüş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yayla Company, one of Türkiye’s largest grain importers and food producers.
During the meeting, the chairman expressed his gratitude to Minister Nimul and the Cambodian delegation for visiting Yayla. He noted the company’s interest in sourcing Cambodian agricultural products — in particular rice, cashew nuts, dried fruits and other nuts — for processing in Türkiye and distribution both in the Turkish market and for export to European and Middle Eastern markets.
In response, Minister Nimul welcomed the proposal and discussed Cambodia’s strengths in agricultural exports, emphasising the country’s rice and cashew-nut sectors. She stated that the Ministry of Commerce will facilitate connections between Yayla Company and Cambodian suppliers, producers and exporters, to study the potential for Cambodian-Turkish trade in these commodities.
Yayla Company, established in 1996, has a diversified food-production and grain-import business with an annual production capacity of approximately 1 million tons and over 60,000 retail points across Türkiye and the European Union. This meeting marks a strategic step in strengthening bilateral agricultural trade between Cambodia and Türkiye.
The discussion reflects growing interest in Cambodia’s agricultural export potential and aligns with efforts to diversify sourcing in Türkiye and beyond. The Cambodian delegation’s engagement with Turkish industry leaders underscores Cambodia’s ambition to expand its presence in global agricultural supply chains.
For further details on potential export frameworks, market access conditions and next-steps, officials from both sides will follow up with business-matching sessions and supply-chain assessments in the coming months.
