After serving as the Indian Ambassador to Cambodia for nearly four years, Devyani Uttam Khobragade has completed her diplomatic term.
On Monday, December 23, she paid a farewell visit to Cambodia’s Prime Minister at the Peace Palace. During the meeting, Ambassador Khobragade expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its steadfast support and collaboration throughout her tenure. She acknowledged that this partnership played a pivotal role in the success of her mission and significantly contributed to the strengthening of bilateral relations between India and Cambodia. The Ambassador also voiced her optimism about the future, expressing confidence that ties between the two nations would continue to grow and flourish.
Prime Minister Hun Manet praised Ambassador Khobragade for her dedication and noteworthy contributions to fostering and expanding the cordial and cooperative relationship between the two countries.
Both leaders reflected on the substantial progress made in various areas of collaboration during her tenure. These included high-level exchanges, trade and economic cooperation, security and national defense, digital transformation, human resource development, cultural and religious engagement, tourism, direct flight connections, and strengthening people-to-people ties.
The meeting underscored mutual appreciation for the advances achieved in bilateral relations and the shared commitment to elevating these ties to new heights in the years ahead.
