H.E. HEM Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, welcomed a delegation from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) to discuss technological collaboration and strategies to enhance Cambodia’s industrial growth and trade opportunities.
During the meeting, H.E. HEM Vanndy underscored the Ministry’s commitment to fostering innovation and driving digital transformation. He highlighted Cambodia’s expanding fintech sector, particularly advancements in e-payment systems, as a key component of the country’s technological progress.
Mr. Ronald Ho, Regional Director for Southeast Asia and South Asia at HKTDC, outlined the council’s initiatives to promote international trade. He emphasized the role of trade fairs in fostering innovation and supporting the growth of startups. Additionally, he noted that HKTDC’s extensive trade network could serve as a valuable channel for Cambodian products to access global markets.
Encouraging further collaboration, H.E. HEM Vanndy invited HKTDC to explore investment opportunities in technological solutions that could benefit Cambodia’s key economic sectors. He emphasized their potential to drive growth in both domestic and export markets.
