New Delhi, 29 August 2024 – Endorsed by the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and sanctioned by the Minister of Tourism, an influential delegation led by His Excellency Hul Seila, Under-Secretary of State, has made a significant move to participate in the Business, Leisure, Travel, and Mice Tourism Exhibition 2024 (BLTM 2024). The event, held from August 29 to 31 at the Yashoboomi International Convention and Exhibition Centre in New Delhi, India, has drawn considerable global attention with the presence of over 600 buyers, more than 500 sellers from over 20 countries, and an attendance exceeding 10,000 visitors.

The delegation comprises three government delegates, three artists, and representatives from eight prominent Cambodian companies. This strategic participation not only seeks to highlight Cambodia’s diverse and rich tourism offerings but also aligns with several key developmental agendas and promotional campaigns aimed at boosting the nation’s tourism industry.

Promoting Cambodia-India Tourism Synergies

This significant presence at BLTM 2024 is set against the backdrop of the “1st Cambodia and India Tourism Year 2024” campaign. Through this initiative, the involvement aims to elevate Cambodia’s visibility on the international stage and underscore the ongoing efforts to deepen tourism-related ties between Cambodia and India. By participating in such a high-profile exhibition, Cambodia aims to leverage the platform to promote its cultural, historical, and leisure sites, while also paving the way for future collaborative ventures.

Boosting Campaigns and Strategic Initiatives

Moreover, the event serves as a pivotal point for the “Visit Siem Reap 2024” campaign. This particular promotional effort is designed to attract more visitors and investors from India to Cambodia, focusing specifically on the historical and cultural richness of Siem Reap. This campaign fits neatly within the broader strategic framework of “BUILD + 3Ds”. This initiative by the Ministry of Tourism includes directions that focus on development, diversification, and digitalization of the tourism sector, which are seen as critical elements in reshaping Cambodia’s tourism landscape to meet global standards and expectations.

Expected Outcomes of BLTM 2024 Participation

By showcasing Cambodia’s tourism potential at such a large-scale international event, the delegation expects to generate significant interest and encourage business opportunities. The interaction with a diverse global audience allows for the exchange of ideas, cultural promotion, and stronger business networks, especially between Cambodia and India.

The participation is also likely to catalyze inbound tourism and investment into Cambodia, given the strategic dissemination of information regarding Cambodia’s tourism assets and investment opportunities. This is particularly critical as Cambodia continues to recover and expand its tourism sector in the post-pandemic era.

Future Prospects

Looking forward, the impacts of Cambodia’s active involvement in BLTM 2024 are expected to be long-standing. Establishing stronger ties with Indian tourists and businesses can lead to increased visitor numbers and enhanced bilateral relations. The insights gained from the event will also assist in fine-tuning future promotional strategies and aligning them with international tourism trends.

Overall, Cambodia’s participation in BLTM 2024 is a proactive step towards positioning itself as a leading destination within the global tourism industry. It highlights the country’s readiness to engage on international platforms, promoting its unique cultural heritage and burgeoning tourism infrastructure, all while forging vital international relations that promise to bolster the nation’s tourism economy for years to come.
