Chinese envoys Kang Tai and Zhu Ying reported that an Indian named Kaundinya established the state of Funan after receiving a magic bow in a dream. Their lineage became the royal dynasty of Funan, and Kaundinya built a capital called Vyadhapura. The kingdom also came to be known as Kambojadeśa.
