PHNOM PENH — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has encouraged the security ministries of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam to deepen their cooperation. He noted that stronger security partnerships will directly support broader trilateral ties in trade, economy, and investment.
The Prime Minister shared these views during a high-level meeting at the Peace Palace. He received Lieutenant General Vanthong Kongmany, Laos’ Minister of Public Security, and General Lương Tam Quang, Vietnam’s Minister of Public Security, for a working discussion.

Cross-Border Security and Joint Crime Combat

- Border Stability: The leaders are encouraging border provinces to maintain close collaboration. This effort aims to preserve daily security and transform shared borders into zones of peace, friendship, and development.
- Transnational Crime: The ministries will strengthen joint operational efforts to combat cross-border criminal networks.
- Specialized Enforcement: The joint strategy places a sharp focus on stopping human trafficking, drug trafficking, and rising cyber-enabled fraud.
